Radioactive@home / Project is down

If you write here in English next time maybe it will be faster.
http://www.boincatpoland.org/smf/index.php?topic=10112.msg287371;topicseen#msg287371
As I don't speak any Polish, I'll stick to this one here, that's the right one for us anglophones, and I expect the guys and gals from R@H to have this on their watch-list as well.

Radioactive@home / Project is down

OK, here we are again.
Since quite some time the project is again completely down, no BOINC, no web-page, no nothing.
Is there any explanation possible, and perhaps even an end-date for the outage?

As usually - no.
And now it's running again, but still no information, neither here nor in the BOINC-manager.
But I think I'll soon get the next spam mail for my non-located sensor, where I can't do anything about because they messed up with the coordinates.

Down again, since a few days.  :(
Any news about it?

And I got this spam several times again:  :bad: :bad:
CytatHello,

Your sensor connected to host 19613 has no location set.
Please go to your host page at http://radioactiveathome.org/boinc/show_host_detail.php?hostid=19613
and add a marker on the map
You don't have to set precise location, ± couple of hundreds of meters is fine.
Hosts with no location are granted only half of the credits.

If you have any questions, please visit our forums at http://radioactiveathome.org/boinc/forum_index.php

For fuck sake, if you can't cope with the localisation of the sensors on your server, could you at least stop spamming those, who can't do anything about it with this annoying messages?
OK, you obviously don't care any more about this project, at least you look as if you don't give a flying fuck about it, but then at least stop the mail sender! >:( :bad:  :whip:

<sound of crickets>
Nothing, absolutely nothing, is happening, this project is obviously dead as a Blackbeard >:( >:( >:( :bad: :bad: :bad:

Somebody cares, just not had answer...

The project isn't dead. Just Google decided to switch off access to their map.
TJM is learning now OpenStreetMaps API to rewrite the code but as hi is currently working in health industry and is struggling with time to sort it out.

We will update everybody when we switch to OSM.
Giving no answers while spamming users for not setting a location for weeks and weeks is for me "Nobody cares".

If you can't insert a google-map for setting the coordinates, why not simply let the users fill them in by hand? Or do so as an admin somewhere, if you are told those values? It's not, that there are too many detectors around.

Przepraszamy za adres w języku angielskim, ale wydaje się, że nikt tak naprawdę nie czyta również podforum w języku angielskim, stąd tutaj w tej części.

As obviously nobody cares about posts in the project forum, or even here in the English sub-section, I'll post it here as well. Nobody of the project admins seems to care about the project any longer, there are no answers to questions about bugs, there is, to be frank, no interaction by any admin at all. Is there any admin left? Or ist the project simply completely dead, just like for example QNC? If so, I won't bother you any longer with questions, I will just run my detector for fun, and that's it, as well as with QNC. But please be truthful about it. It seems to be not a living project any longer.

Could you please either stop spamming us users, who can't do anything about it, because you fail to fix your pages, or, better even, fix your pages?
It's becoming rather annoying to a) hear absolutely nothing about this and b) to be bothered with this spam nevertheless. :wth: :wth: :wth: :wth: :wth: :wth: :wth:

As I said, I simply can'r do that, there is no possibility to do this, please stop sending this mails as long as you don't repair the system.

Radioactive@home / Project is down

I'll start a new thread without a date  ;)

I again can't get any connection to the project, neither the BONC- nor the Web-sites. :(
Give the machines a whip, please :whip:

If the interactive map is somehow not possible, why not simply add a field to write the coordinates directly?
#13
In the details page for my sensor in the map at the bottom is missing, so I can't set a location. So I only get half of the credits, and nobody will know where the spike in radioactive fallout is, that I will detect.
I've asked this already over there, but got no answer. I as well provides the coordinates for my sensor there in various coordinate systems, so if someone can manually edit to my host, it would as well be fine. But better to repair the map.

I just did a Ping on my coputer:
ping radioactiveathome.org
PING radioactiveathome.org (37.59.210.4) 56(84) bytes of data.

And no answer. It's probably the wrong IP. I'll look, what to do about that, and whether I have somewhere manually put a fixed IP.

OK, I tried the hardcore solution (detach and re-attach) and failed. Perhaps I should forst have tried to reach the home page in a browser, as that is as well not there at the moment. It has simply vanished completely.
What has gone wrong with the project, that it is completely off-line now?

I still get this in BOINC:

The host where Radioactive@home VPS stays for 10 years are becoming very unstable.
We are just moved it to new machine in other location and doing some maintenance work on it.
I wish you all luck, is there an ETA for the new setup?

What has happened? As the whole page is down, I can't even ask there in the fora, as they are not available as well.
My detector is sill running, but can't deliver any data home :(
And again, same procedure as every year. I've seen something in the polish language part, but I can't read it.

Radioactive@home / DNS Problems
05 Styczeń 2018, 10:05
Since some time before Christmas last year you somehow lost the DNS-connection between radioactiveathome.org and your static IP 37.59.210.4

This can be solved by users with inserting

Just removed the now wrong IP, so that nobody will use it. I used it and lost connection about it with some server change in the past. Saenger, 02.07.21

in their host file (in /etc for penguins, somewhere else for windows), but that can only be a temporary solution.
You obviously discuss something in your polish thread, but that illegible for me (and probably most other users).

Can you give some update about the situation on the sites, most users still are able to reach in a language most users can understand? I'd suggest:
BOINCstats
Free-DC
And the following teams (the big five including this one):
SETI.Germany (english answer no problem)
Czech National Team
Alliance Francophone
Planet 3DNow!

Since over two weeks the validator ain't doing no work at all  >:(, Quite considerably amounts of WU are waiting to be credited :dunno:. Can someone in the vicinity of the server please give it a solid kick to its electronic gonads  :attack: ?

Dear members of BOINC@Poland ,

the 16th of November 2012 marks the 8th birthday of World Community Grid.

This day takes SETI.Germany as an opportunity to support the project for 7 days with full power and therefore calls for the 8th Birthday Challenge.

We cordially welcome you and your team to join the challenge.
More information and statistics regarding the challenge can be found here.

We hope that many members participate in this challenge and would be very happy to see yours teams registration.

Thanks a lot, guys! :p_arr: :parrrty: :boing:
Running fine on my my Galaxy, I just changed it's name and thus the number, here's the new link.
First one showed the same habit as with Radegast, but afterwards they ran fine.

Just did so. Let's wait until tomorrow what happens.

atleast the source code... that would help to ort the app to android.
It's probably somewhere here: http://wuprop.boinc-af.org/download/

I think it will be great if AF team can help with applications. All job on NativeBOINC client and it current apps are done by one person, so help from others will be really welcome :)
I've asked it in their forum (the WUProp one), but I know they don't look there that often.
I'll try in their team-forum as well. Let's see, what happens.

I'm running NB on my SGS2, and have had no probs so far (besides the USB battery loader being a bit underpowered, only the plug in the wall will sufficiently load the accu, and even then it has probs with the screen on and battery on low  :fright:).

I'd like to have an app for WUProp on it as well, but I don't know who should provide it.
I think I get it right, that the apps for MW and PG were provided by you, Enigma and R@H sowieso.
Should I ask for an app with the Alliance Francophone to write it or are you the ones, who will make it work?

Hi there,

Just wanted to say HI! :ahoy:
